Kia India has officially released the first teaser for its upcoming compact SUV, the Syros. Positioned between the Kia Sonet and Seltos, the Syros promises to offer a range of premium features, consistent with Kia’s reputation for well-equipped vehicles.
The Syros is set to create a new segment in the SUV/crossover market, bridging the gap between sub-4-meter and mid-size SUVs.
The teaser video reveals key design elements, including a panoramic sunroof and innovative vertically-stacked tri-LED projector headlamps paired with L-shaped LED DRLs. These features contribute to the Syros' distinct and modern appearance.
Sporting a bold, boxy design, the Syros takes inspiration from the Kia EV9. Its muscular stance is enhanced by tall pillars, a flat roofline, and squared-off, flared wheel arches, giving it a robust yet compact presence. The rear design features L-shaped LED taillights integrated into the D-pillars, a flat tailgate, and bumper reflectors, adding to its unique aesthetic.
While Kia has not yet confirmed specific powertrain details, the Syros is expected to be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions. The ICE variant is likely to launch first, followed by the EV model.
